I'm mastering 3D printing
« on: September 25, 2023, 03:39:28 PM »
A most interesting activity))) I not only have to learn to print, but also at the same time master programs for repairing and creating 3D models.

Here is my first “masterpiece” - Nieuport 24. When I printed it, I still had a very vague idea about 3D printing, as a result the model came out defective (as a result of partial separation from the supports, steps appeared on the wingtips), a couple of cylinders in the engine were without the corresponding relief (I plan to restore this relief with the help of greenstaff). In addition, the model was partially low-poly, as a result of which I had to finish it the old fashioned way, with putty. But in general, the model turned out not bad for the first time and is quite worthy to take its place on the gaming table. Model in 1/56 scale.

The propeller is planned in two versions - for the model standing at the airfield it will be the one you see in one of the pictures, for the model on a tripod (in flight) it will be a circle made of transparent plastic.

Thanks guys.
By the way, as a result of some experiments I found out that it is best to putty a product made of photopolymer resin with automotive putties. I used polyester and nitro putty. Soft polyester - for relatively significant problems, nitro - for finishing. Both stuck very securely.
And both have an extremely unpleasant odor, so it’s better to work outdoors.

Nice Nieuport.  I like the pilot too.  Is that one from your site?

I assume the AC is a Garford-Putilov?

Thank you.
The pilot is a figure from my set of Polish pilots for the Soviet-Polish War. However, this figure is suitable for almost pilots of any countries oriented towards the Entente.
Yes, the armored vehicle is a Garford-Putilov.
