Unfortunately, these figures are not suitable for the period of the First World War. At least - without significant refinement of some of them. The officers are dressed in leather jackets, which is typical of the Bolsheviks, but not for the officers of the Imperial Army. In addition, they have a "red commander's sign" on their chests. Most of the caps in the set have a picture of a cockade-star, and a fur hat-ribbon (should be red), which determines their belonging to the Bolsheviks. Figures have insufficient equipment for the war, which is characteristic of the civil war in which all sides lacked weapons and equipment.. Figures do not have sapper shovels, flasks, bowlers, two figures are dressed in shoes made from wooden strips - bast shoes.

I understood everything else, but what did you mean by 'bowlers'? Helmets?

In English a 'bowler' means this type of hat:

Perhaps this name is this headpiece and became the source for the designation of kitchen utensils for the soldier? There are some similarities in shape. Who knows...

Yes, the shape is similar, which is probably the origin. Soldiers love nicknaming things, after all.

Officer company of the Kornilov shock regiment. Figures are made in real proportions (!). Not compatible with the figures of most manufacturers for this period, but perfectly detailed.

What scale are the Kornilov officers in? They seem very finely detailed for 28-30mm.

28 mm. But, as the manufacturer said, these same figures are planned to be released on a large scale (1/35 or 1/32).

Very nice! here's hoping that one day there will be some suitable winter clad soldiers for the Russo-Finnish War.

The Russian overcoat has not changed in cut since the end of the 19th century (not counting the very brief appearance of caftans of the 1919 model, which quickly disappeared from army use). In order to get a soldier for the Finnish War, you just need to replace the head in a cap with earflaps from the WW2 period with a head in a Budennovka (late model).

Hoping for greatcoats and 1936 pattern helmet. Yes, you are right, head swaps are a possible solution but it has always surprised me that nobody has made decent, dedicated Soviet figures for this war in 28mm*. There are some rather nice Winter War Finns out there.



* There is a range of dedicated Red Army Winter War figures but they are quite grotesque sculpts.

In overcoats, only the color of the material, the number of buttons and the length changed. But not the general appearance.
