Just to prove I haven't been slacking here is a sneak peek at the first of my French Indian Wars figures (unbased and unvarnished)

I'm looking forward to having these chaps rampaging through my tabletop forest in about a month and a half.

My ongoing write-up of the project is here if anyone wants to read along as I go.

I started on August the 1st but took four days out to paint my Pig Tickler set. I've also been painting some Sci fi scenery so I lost a couple of days there.
So, all together just over two weeks, i manage 18-25 figures a week depending on what they are. These are all irregulars and take longer, uniformed troops are quicker.
I hate painting muskets :(

There'll be some close ups when I've based and varnished them.

I'll be doing this project until the end of September. I won't get everything done by then, I expect to have the supply wagons and some civilian colonists left to do. But, all the combatants will be done, British, French, Indians, Colonists and Woodsmen from both sides.

I may get the rest done before the end of the year, it will depend on how the Moonbase progresses which is next on my list.....

Matakishi, why are you going to use these huge bases?

Some of the figures only just fit on the bases. They won't look so big once they're terrained.

Everything is explained here:

Ok, the first pictures of finished figures are posted, along with a detailed explanation of the basing technique since someone was asking on TMP.

Nice write-up. I keep going back and forth with what I want to follow the Gloire rules up with. It looks like it will be Pirates but both the FIW and Solomon Kane (going in two different time directions) keep competing to usurp the pirates.

Thanks!
