That banner does look better now you have altered it...

Both Mordred and Agricola look really good. Somehow I'd guessed that, if you were going to do Agricola, that you'd use that model... Very 'Roman'...

Are you going to do any Saxons?

So are you just painting the characters or are you planning on painting any warbands for them? This is a great project, love your painting.

I´m painting the characters because I only have character packs..except some wolftail warriors. I would like to paint two infantry units: Derfel´s Wolftails and Agricola´s Spearmen (I really love the romano-brits from Foundry, they´re perfect for Gwent). And of course Arthus and his knights again using Foundry. So around 30 Fis for skirmish games. But I´m not the best in finishing projects, so I can´t promise anything.
Two of my friends just ordered some Saxons, both Musketeer and GB. So no Saxons for me (but who knows: as allies? Or Oengus Blackshields?)

Sounds good. I always imagine agricolas men would look like these http://grippingbeast.com/product.php?ItemID=242 but the foundry ones are really nice too. I suppose that's the great thing about interpreting fiction everyone has their own images.

I'm going to get the books from the library again for a read, but didn't Mordred use some Franks in the last book in the series.  That would give you a chance to have some barbarians that aren't Saxons.

Beautiful work, Jan!! I really like the choice of model for Agricola and the changes to the banner are great!!! Great wolfshead!

Thanks to my girlfriend I will be painting some Saxons, hopefully soon, that would love to cross swords with your Brittons! I am planing to field the army of Aelle (well, I say... army :) it will be a skirmish after all) therefore I am listening to the audiobook version of Excalibur for ideas.

Franks are mentioned in the book. The Saxons are mentioned to have bought troops from Clovis.

P.S. Don't forget Sagramor!!!

Some warriors for Derfel´s warband. And a groupshot of the Wolftails so far. On Derfel´s right side stands Issa, ready to protect his lord.

I know a guitarr player who is writing some rules... ::) For Background, Army lists and fluff I really love the WAB Age of Arthur book. I also thought about adapting the "Triumph+Tragedy" rules. We´ll see.
