Have you thought of trying the Lord of the Rings SBG? I did some rules for Late Romans and the like a while ago and I think it works great for skirmishing games.

I think this two miniatures are some of the best I´ve ever seen. And painted. The sword armed could serve as a more romanised (and more christian) Arthur.

I´m planning some skirmish games with Aeneas and Remington. So 30-50 Miniatures a side, that could be a 1:1 ratio when I think of how "large" the armies was at that time. My plan: 2 X 10 warriors with spears (Derfel´s Wolftails and Kingdom of Gwent) plus 9 knights, including Arthur himself.
