Fantagreek (Satyrs update)
« on: December 30, 2010, 10:54:23 AM »
Dear gentlemen,
I'm posting some pic of my fanta-greek project. Nothing new under the sun, a kind of greek mythology but less orthodox than that name could suggest:

Heracles and some peloponnesian friend

More peloponnesian hoplites

Skeletons sprouting from sown dragon's teeth

Persian monster #1: The Manticore!

Norhern Tribe Satyrs

Very nice; smashing figures and great painting. I particularly like the manticore.

I really like the concept and the verdigris on the skeletons. I'm not too fond of the basing stule though: on a coin on a square on a larger base. I think it should be possible to make the transition a bit smoother?
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

Agree, it's awful. Those magnetic multibase have been thought for larger metal bases that disguised the magnet underneath. I should have taken the pics without it. Thanks for the rest.

Nice collection - Greek myths, probably using Broadsword rules as a basis, is one of those things I've had on my radar for awhile.

This thread may have bumped them up my list a little - please keep going and posting!

Since the year 2000 (ten years!), we hade put the ancient Greeks (and not only they, but also the Romans, Celts, Persians, etc.) in our fantasy world of Naran.
We have created profiles for these armies to play them with our version of Fantasy Warriors: Naran Fantasy Wars.
We use many of the 28 mm miniatures of the historical series, such as those of Black Tree.
Mirliton recently put into production the former Grenadier beautiful miniatures of creatures of Greek mythology: Centaurs, Minotaurs, etc..
For the Nymphs we have found the miniatures of the Foundry.
Mirliton has the Amazon too (ex Grenadier).
Here is an example of one of our battles:
Greeks (Men of Arcadia) against Lizardmen:
