The Horror of LeMarq manor
« on: August 24, 2006, 12:55:53 PM »
Well, back from my trip to Ipswich, Mass. Had a great time. We stayed at a place called the Inn at Castle Hill. Now, I'm going to skip the real history and go for something a little more sinister. The grounds sparked a huge idea for me and will be the basis around which the .45 Adventure Horror supplement will be built.

I'm sharing just some of the pictures I took here.

Why would a man choose to build a house on a hill in the middle of a swamp?

Why would he need this "temple" deep in the woods with a path leading to the ocean?

Why would the workers at his factory chip in to have two of these statues put in place with the inscription "To protect this house from evil"?

And why would he have a walkway this large built from the house to the sea?

If you ever are in the Massachussetts area you should take the time to explore the fishing towns along the north coast if you are a fan of Lovecraft and his works. Nothing will inspire you more.

Or put you at greater risk from harm at the hands of the Deep Ones and their land-dwelling worshippers!

Awesome pictures, Rich. Welcome back.

This story's wicked as hell!

Living there would sooner or later drive me crazy for sure. :D
"I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?"
"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...
