Black Hat buys Gladiatior! More musketeer minis
« on: August 25, 2006, 01:49:54 PM »
Announcement on TMP yesterday

There aren't too many ranges of 25/28mm musketeers, so it's very nice to see these won't be lost! These figures are a little more "classic" in the sense that they don't look much like today's 28s, but they're still musketeers!

And if you're a member of the Gloire Yahoo Group, you can see some pictures that will be appearing in Gloire of this line of figures.

I like the line for a few reasons:

1) The figures don't intimidate me when it comes time to paint. They're clean and simple.

2) The line is more than just Musketeers and Cardinal's Guard

3) Mike at Black Hat plans to expand the range.

I think the problem is, you can hardly mix them up with figures from most other manufacturers.
For me much more important is, that also the 15mm historical miniatures stay in production. :-D

"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

nd I am open to suggestions about what people want.  I already want to add King, Queen and Cardinal, plus the Kings Guard.

I'd like to see more non-military types. Brigands, wandering hero types, female swords (people?).

Slightly different costumes, implying different nationalities. Dutch and English, maybe even a Polish noble or two for variety (the Poles were long-time allies with the French.)
