Houses for Eastern Europe villages
« on: January 20, 2011, 01:46:04 AM »
Vamps  :o  and Weres  :o  need people to oppress and heroes need to  rescue them.

People need houses, huts, castles,  nunneries/monasteries, etc. for shelter.   :D

Ideas where I might start my searches?  Paper in a pinch will do but eventually I want something more substantial.

Gracias,

Glenn

Hovels is a good place to start using their Russian log houses. They look ok for Gothic Horror games. You  ill see my Village using them in Malamute's Dracula, Chapter one at the top of the Gothic Board.

Also Jets "Curse of the Dertflinghans" Sticky thread has lots of pictures of them.

I've got some of the ruined hovel buildings and they're really nice (thanks malamute!). They are a bit on the small side for buildings and i've been warned that the moulds are a bit old and you'll need to clean them up.

I'm going to try and createw my own buildings for the village , but that will be a while down the road.

Cheers

Generic Hammer Central European-Carpathian settings generally look quite like 16th-17th Century England or Germany. Half timbered houses, quite steeply pitched roofs, some blocky stonework, small windows.

Anything people are building for Warhammer Fantasy or Mordheim - and there's a lot of it about on the web - will be broadly the right kind of cultural area I suspect.

If you're looking at building stuff, I recommend going to TerraGenesis - main site is here and in particular to my album of other people's medieval/early modern architecture shots, which includes some stunning examples of people's work, and some photos of actual architecture. I hope some of that may be useful, even if it's not terribly historically accurate.

I think 4 Grounds new Fantasy range would work well.

Chaps, a bit a thread okay going on here. This request was first listed in January 2011 and Conquistador hasn't been on LAF for a long time.  ;)
