Zorro and the revolution...
« on: January 21, 2011, 04:18:31 PM »
...that never was.  Not the Bear Flag thing.

I thought about putting this in VSF but it pre-dates Victoria's rules.

Inspired by http://www.pjfarmer.com/woldnewton/Zorro.htm among other things...

Back around the early 1800's revolutionary thoughts were growing in the Spanish colonies (what would become Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Peru in that order IIRC.)  The Mexican Revolution(s) started around 1810 and went thru early 1820's.

Zorro is placed in fiction around those years.  In the early Disney TV series the tyrants are often (mis)representing Spanish authority.

So, to put this into a war game environment I postulated a three war conflict between Pro-Spain, Pro-Mexico (not yet a country but trying,) and Pro-Californio adherents.

So, who does Zorro support or does he just free-lance his activities?

Gracias,

Glenn

I think he would fight injustice wherever he found it and whichever side was perpetrating it.

It says Zorro on the door of Swashbuckling Adventures if you look! I'm not in the habit of stealing Blood's trade.  :D
