Tres interessant, mon brave - mais... qu'est-ce que c'est? Une machine extraterrestre qui marche? C'est terrible!

Aussi, mon francais, c'est terrible.

I'm not sure which is more embarrassing:: that you're self-effacing about your French, while mine is non-existent, or the poster is living  in Lyon, and  whose English is better than mine...  :'(

 :D

Indeed, we need more explanations! The archival photographical image is too degraded for us to have much certainty of origin, or purpose! And, my gazetteer is strangely silent on this Uchronia!

Don't worry about your french (which is quite good), Red Orc, I'll give you more data in english.  ;)

So for you and The_Beast, this is a more recent picture (estimated year : 1868) :

This is a French patrol supported by a Martian Tripod (Republic of France and Mars).

Uchronia 1868 is a personal project born in 2009. It has been reactivated as I was very disappointed by Dystopian Wars which is only a WWII in 1870.

This is a little sum up of the context : there was a change in the universe something that has changed our little Earth.
In 1849, Martian tripods land in France and some years later will be created the Republic of France and Mars.
The same year, a warp gap destroy Berlin and Prussians takes the leadership of the German nation : exploring the gap, they discover a world of Dragons, capture some of the creatures and use them in their armies.
Still in 1849, a tidal wave swallows Great-Britain and destroy it : the Exiled Kingdom of Great Britain must develop a high technology to survive. In Africa, dinosaurs are back! The Zoulou Empire manages to train them and to use them against the european conquerors.
This is only some of my ideas about this project (there also american zombies and russian necromancers :) ).

I'll use 6mm miniatures and Epic Armageddon rules to play in this universe. It will be a very long project and I'll give you news about it on this topic. :)

Sounds like a lovely project, I currently have 6mm sci-fi armies in the works as slow going task and its very inspiring to see all these other 6mm things going on.

I think the VSF part of LAF has perhaps the most entertaining back stories people create and some of the most interesting worlds.

What?!? We're a bunch of zombies?!?

Oh, wait, that WOULD explain much...  lol

But, if we're the zombies, and the Russians are the necromancers, then...

Now, see here!  :D

Really looking forward to updates as well!

Fortunately there are zombies in north america but not all the americans are zombies.  lol

I'll develop this part later but my first ideas are these : civil war is not finished in 1868 between the Union of American States (North) and the American Conferation (South where zombies are numerous due to a vaudou malediction).

Ah, see, I thought the minis were made by the poster.  The robots anyhow.
A new war is about to start under alien suns.

Excellent!

By the way, I'm intrigued by the Boche and their dragons. I'd appreciate a comment on that direction, especially as I'm half German, and one quarter Welsh (and so, hoping for some red in the dragons...)

The other quarter, well, we don't speak of that in polite company.

For the Prussians, I've planed an elite army (big surprise!  lol ): very good but very few infantry supported by big dragons (for those who know Epic Armageddon, Dragons will all be war engines) dedicated to many kind of fight. Some of them will be close assault creatures, other will support the Prussian troops with fire breath.

I've just began my work on the Prussian army list but I've already painted some Dragons (I've already post some pictures here as I've firstly used these miniatures for Warmaster). As soon as I've got pictures of them in a "Uchronia 1868" context, I post them. :)

And, yes, my Martian Walkers come from germys micros. French & Martian armies will deploy numerous infantry supported by walkers (for the most little to the bigger).

Thank you all for your interest.  ::)

One more (bad) picture about franco-martians forces : this is the Martian Battle Walkers, the most recent walker units of the Martian armies.
