According to a Wiki entry, Mitrailleuse signifies any rapid fire, rifle-barreled weapon in French, but a particular volley weapon when used as a term in English. May I assume the specific versus the general?

Also, "They were not infantry support weapons but rather a form of special artillery." Assuming my assumption is correct(  ??? ), instead of being discontinued after the Franco-Prussian embarrassment, it was resurrected and tactically, as well as technically, improved in your universe? As I'd heard of the piece, but knew next to nothing, thanks for the excursion!  :D

Sorry, I did not see your intervention.

In Uchronia 1868, Mitrailleuses have been improved with Martian technology to allow them to support infantry.

I also did want to show that the project was still alive : I've written 4 army lists (Franco-Martian Republic, Draconic Kingdom of Prussia, Zoulou Empire and Kingdom of Great Britain in Exile) and I'm painting two 1500 points armies for Franco-Martians and Prussians in order to test them on May (yes, I'm very slow...  ::)).

And I've painted a 4th Martian Heavy Walker in order to deploy a whole squadron :

Last words of a Prussian officer.

This heavy walker comes from Dystopian Wars.

This is such a beautiful project, done with care and humour and obvious love, that I'm prepared to forgive you for being terribly slow (I am too, but with nothing like as lovely results). Ever time I visit this thread my face looks like this -  :D - because it's so very very cool. Thanks for continuing to share it with us!

Just an FYI, I missed your response to my response...  lol

Pleased to see your work continue. I'm still not sure how I feel about the Martian 'walkers', but everything else has my toes curling!

Thanks for your comments. :)

Next step is to paint my first prussian infantery company. I hope that I'll not be too slow on that work... ;)

Prussian infantry painted!

Baccus Miniatures range.

Note that I've created a little website for Uchronia 1868 : I'll update it as soon as possible with new texts (in French) and pictures.

In fact the project has born on 2009 (when I bought all that miniatures from Baccus) but you're right this is the second year of the serious start of it. This is loooooooong project...  ::)

This is an absolutely fantastic project, great to see another 6mm VSF project out there. Really love the use of that Dystopian Wars walker, was thinking about including one in my project for my up and coming French army, just wasn't sure about the scale. Will definitely have to get one now.

Many thanks for your comments.
In fact, the whole Spartan Games range is usefull : Dystopian Wars, of course, but also The Uncharted Seas (Prussian flying dragons for example) and even Firestorm Armada (I've found my franco-martian fliers there  ;) ).

Missed this first time round. Excellent project. Did the Irish let the Welsh and Scottish stay in Ireland after they kicked out the 'British'?
