Cool, I misunderstood something you said and assumed you might be doing something akin to the Grayscale Caverns. Must have been the rum. Glad you are staying in Living Color.

I'm with DintheDin, enjoying seeing these buildings from pieces of foam to sinister dwelling!

Thanks for the reply, Mister Frau Blucher! I am glad you are enjoying the process. Leaving it in black & white is tempting.
Late last night I did the balconies. Today I will work on the doors & window. Then come the painting & detailing...the detailing in a never-ending thing. I am hoping to wrap it up over the weekend.

could not agree more!

AND scraping off the glue & paint from my fingers leaves lots of nasty little cuts. I leave my blood in everything I do...my Dad would approve.

By the way, Al! Thought you might get a kick out of seeing this. Not sure I will use this particular shot, but your creations will be making an appearance in the next Greywater Chronicles (might be both of the next 2 issues - not sure how the editing will fall!).

The Mushroom Lads  look SPLENDID in your BEAUTIFUL setting.
Thanks very much for posting the photo. I will have to keep an eye out for the game.

Sounds a little pagan, but shedding blood to ones creations transfers them a part of his energy...
Many conversions of mine hide blood underneath their paint cover  :)

And this setting I see is one of the most beautiful ever! Cheers!

The creative process just seems to necessitate some suffering to a greater or lesser extent. Child birth is a fine example.
Thanks for the reply, Dinos.

Today I did the door & window frames AND made the remaining three doors. The windows will get the faces-lurking-behind-the-drapes effect, AND the one second from the right will receive a couple of shuttered/boarded up windows:

Until whenever.

I am delighted I contributed to a pleasant day for you, Dinos.
The Blight photo stage will be colorful, but whimsically creepy & mildly disturbing nonetheless.

I must admit, recently having paid out for new doors front and back on our house, and damn they are expensive.

I must admit even if my better half would not approve.

I really wish the front door had a handle in the style of your model ones!

Where do you get them from, assuming they are some model ship or other thing/crank handles?

The backdrop is, as always, wonderfully atmospheric

I have had the rude awakening to the price of good quality storm doors as well. Cap'n John & I had them installed on the side & back of the house. We each put out a bit over $700 for them.
I made these doors out of balsa strips glued to a balsa form with styrene strips for the bracing, styrene rod for the hinges. head pin rivets (jewelry item), AND watch parts from Hobby Lobby (Micro Mark has the watch parts as well). The door rings are jewelry parts.
I am glad you like the stage thus far, Tactalvanic. Thanks for the reply.

Beautiful. Horrifying but beautiful ;)

Thanks, beefcake. I am happy you like like it.

AND today I finished carving & base coating the street, added a storm/sewer grate, & Faces in windows & doors plus an eye in the rat hole:

This Little Door Face has been here for a couple of years, but he wanted his photo, SO:

Have a pleasant evening!

Holy moly. There's no way I'd have ever noticed that in the wider pictures.

What a brilliant detail!

All these little details are really worth to observe! I especially like the faces on the windows and it is enviable how you made the doors! Cheers!

Ahh... watch parts, should have thought of that.

Thanks for the construction in detail, ideas to emulate  :)
