I am just hoping its better than their Secrets of the Third Reich game.

Emailed Wendy over at WestWind to check how things are going with their "Empire of the Dead" rules, and got a tiny bit of information.

The release is scheduled for November. Currently they are working on a demo scenario which will show off the rules and ideas of the game. From what I learned the scenario will revolve around a famous London based detective and his sidekick as well as a certain famous London serial killer.

Expect that demo scenario to be reviewed and played with a battle report following here and on my blog as soon as it is released :-)

From what I gather the game will use a lot of the existing Gothic Horror range.

Well I got my hands on some models intended for the demo scenario. Jack the Ripper, Holmes+Watson, female victims and some London Bobbies for starters. I'll create a new thread for my entire Empire of the Dead project in this section of the forum when I start painting next week

There was also a large blister of London civilians and London gentlemen in the demo pack, I'm trying to figure out exactly how many models are needed so I don't paint up more than "enough" since I already have a few generic civilians painte dup from the Gothic Horror range.

I was looking for a monstruous chief for a slaanesh champion's retinue, well he will have the job!

Oh and Steinhammer will perfectly have his place in a "the Goon" game.

That's funny; I had the opposite reaction...I thought the minis were cool, but I don't care about a rules release. One of the things that I find truly attractive about L.A.F. is the diversity of viewpoints.

don't really like those cartoon figures, but I hope the rules are good and usable in different scales. Those figures look like Citadel back in the 80's / early 90's. At least the first ogre type.
