Zulus
« on: February 15, 2011, 07:03:25 PM »
Here are some more Foundry Zulus (incorporating a few of their northern kin, the Copplestone Ngoni) recently in Steve Dean's painting competition - where they got roundly Dallimored in the semis...
Again  ::)

A few of these appeared in the last LPL. But 10 of them were painted several months ago to add to the collection just before quite a few LAFers got to play with them at BLAM.
But they haven't been pictured here before in detail, so here goes...

These were the ones that appeared in LPL4.

And these were the previous ones I did...

Given how little these chaps wear, I confess I don't find them particularly easy painting. So my Zulu collection is unlikely to expand much beyond 25...  ;)

Now that is a real damn shame. I love your medieval paint-jobs, but this is the stuff that really makes my heart sing. It's funny you should say that they aren't easy painting, because Copplestone Ngoni are I think my favourite things to paint in all the world. I'm on a five-minute break from painting some right now.

Those are really beautiful. But you really need a lot more than 25 of them.

Marvelous as always!

One is tempted to comment on some aspect particularly well rendered but to be quite honest from shields to skin, this is a top notch effort in every way.
