These are some nicely painted minis but that minotaur is just

, especially in the last photo. The white really makes him pop, really like his shield too, looks like a labyrinth (who makes him?)

The mini is by Reaper. The shield I hand painted. The dip made the surface crinkle, which adds to the skin-like feel of it.

I added the axe head from an old GW chaos warrior halberd head. The shield is the GW Empire round lion shield with the plastic lion face scraped off. I added a hand from an old Necromunda plastic gangera and viola'.

I painted multiple layers of fur and skin tone only to have them eliminated and replaced by the Army Painter quick shade dip I was playing around with.

Still dig it overall.

Yeah I have to agree that minotaur looks fantastic. They look better than most dipped minis I've ever seen - what's your trick?

Love the shield design on the minotaur - very appropriate!

The flesh hounds are great minis too - top job on all of them in fact!

Great job. The shield on the Minotaur is very imaginative. I would love to see a picture of the chaos dude commanding the demons to attack the adventurers.

Is that a genestealer? =) Top stuff, very well painted. I assume you use the dip sparingly - not only painting basic colours then dunking the figs in dip. =D

Thanks to all for the feedback!

Here's the run down: I just started using the AP quickshade dip. I have been painting with inks for 30 years and thought that I needed to up my production and not make everything an 'art' piece. So I started with the Romans and then moved on to the Minotaur.

I then did something really stupid - I took my Dark Elf Scouts that were already inked, and dipped them. Don't ask me why because I really don't know....

I use Dark tone, and I do 13 shakes. I also go back and daub off serious excess points that gather.

As for my bases, I use 25mm round craft wood that you buy in a craft or fabric store in little plastic baggies. I don't remember why I tried those, but they feel better than plastic.
