I'm running a
.45 Adventure game next week at a local store. The game will be set in China with teams of "archaeologists" trying to reach an artifact. I'll flesh ot the details this week.
China was the setting because I really wanted an excuse to use the John Jenkins Terracotta Zombies. But as usual, the work of running the business takes up a lot of time and I need to find short cuts for painting. So, here is my Terracotta Zombies speed painting course.
Step 1. Prime Black. Make sure it's a good covering or make sure to go over any spots the primer does not hit with black paint.
Step 2. I picked up some Krylon Brushed Sienna Textured spraypaint. This was an experiment because I wanted the Zombies to look pitted with age. I'll let you judge the results.
Step 3 and 4. Drybrush with two shades of beige or tan.
Step 5. Drybrush some colored paint over area you want to look like had been painted in the anncient past (I read up on the actual terracotta warriors and found that they did find paint remnants on the figures. Mine have a little bit more to add some color.
Step 6. Do the eyyes a nice glowing red.
And that's it. The whole process took little to no time and I can get all 12 of my warriors done in about 2 hours. And that is the part that appeals to me. They won't win any painting competitions but they will look decent on the table.
