Cow Town Repaint
« on: September 26, 2007, 01:31:35 AM »
Here are my finished buildings from my first Cow Town set. . . I have two more waiting to be painted!

My dad and I modified the inside of the Livery so that it has four individual, removable stalls.

Those fronts are spectacular.  I have two sets I need to paint.

I love this set, I have a few I am working on too.  I would suggest that you remove the balcony form the inside of the saloon and make a second floor.  The balcony serves no apparent purpose and always seemed odd to me.  Why would you have a stairway on the out side that lead to a balcony that goes to nothing?
I made  a second floor so that the stairs lead to rooms above the saloon the girls need a place to sleep, wink, wink.  I love the wallpaper too I am searching some local stores for some suitable doll house paper for my interiors also. Really nice job.

You have a real consistant feel of the Ole Wild West with each building.

Well done.

Nice job. A friend has two sets, although the only painted one is the saloon I did for him, the lazy no-good greenhorn!

Bandit- That's a nice idea, we'll have to try it.  I always thought the balcon was a bit odd too.

Poulppy- The interiors are multiple washes and dry-brushing layers of acrylic paints.  I was using brand paints such as Howard Hues as well as standard craft store hobby paints.

The saloon wallpaper I found here, the first one on the top.  I then resized it with photoshop until I felt the scale was just right.

The livery stable did not have a floor so we added one with thin cardboard then flocked, then created the stalls from scored and painted foamboard.  The hay is Woodland Scenics tall grass I installed and painted.

Thanks for all the kudos, guys!

Yeah as already said these pics show some really great work on bringing
these buildings to life. Love the signwork and detail.
