"alternative medicine" for Mad Doctors
« on: February 27, 2011, 02:14:30 PM »
Looking at the Heroclix Scarecrow figures and thought these might make a nice alternative for reanimated animals/humans for a daring cutting edge research mad Doctor.

So, if the Mad Doctor research not "reanimation" but actual "animation" (Neu Life as it were)  of a new "alternative" life form in the environs of Carpathia what forms would these creations take?  I

have already alluded to Scarecrows (Silly question, are/were Scarecrows used in Eastern Europe?) but what other forms might such a  "misunderstood genius" create?  Golems (assorted flavors,) comes to mind?

Yeah, weird mind set  to have while preparing for Church...

Gracias,

Glenn

I bet scarecrows are present where crows are. Or were where were.

My assumption  :o  but wondered if anyone who had been in Eastern Europe had actually observed such.   :D

Must be the historical war gamer in me... ::)

If I was a mad scientist in Carpathia and had a look around to what would be logical to animate (as servants, guards or helping hands), I´d go for small trees, furniture (yes, like in Beauty&Beast), all mechanical things I could lay hands on (like in Transformers) and statues (saints, gargoyles, etc.). If I needed a private army of my own, I´d go for larger trees, machines, vehicles (like in Rhea M) and the like.

I remember a White Dwarf where the person converted farm tools and a barrel into golems.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

This are a couple of my minis that seem to be what you might be looking for:

(Scroll down you'll find a whole range of scarecrows too)

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Pumpkin Golems?

I saw another company recently that had a small range of pumpkin headed minions, but I can't recall who it was now.

I like the look of these scarecrows, too.
