Sudan…again?
« on: March 01, 2011, 03:20:15 PM »
I know, it is a little bit boring, but here are my final pictures of the TACTICA Sudan board. And believe it or not, I haven’t had a single game on it (by now)…

Major Driscoles in action…Sergeant Plynkes at his side

“Khartoum”

Admiral Benbow in action…

By the way... That unshaven mess next to Plynkes (on the right) is me... The two guys on his left are my two buddies from Darmstadt that absolutely savaged us. Very fun game though.

Not boring at all Frank - wonderful!  :)  :-*

Now, if only I could get my Zulu War board out to Germany, we could put them together and make one very long ravine / donga / wadi!

Coupled with the exquisite Perry range, this Sudan gig is becoming tempting - apart from the fact that I find the Mahdists monotonous and have little interest in the Brits  lol

Oddly enough, it's the Egyptian army that appeals to me, perhaps because of the neat white uniforms and improbable irregular troop types. That plus the fact that since they are the underdog of the period, they're the most challenging army to use on the table.

Must remind myself that I need a new period like I need a busted knee cap though...  ::)

In front of that city was a beautiful long line of Egyptians! Sadly it is not visible on these photos. I can see why you find them interesting and they would be an option for me as well aesthetically.

Great Stuff Frank - good to see the Gunboat in all it's glory - despite all the other pics from everyone I think this is the first of it actually 'in action'!

That board really is stunning. I'm sure you know that by now already though.
It's the Egyptians that float my boat too out of this period.
