Beware the Kraken! Sighted in the Skeleton Sea's!
« on: October 04, 2007, 07:03:28 AM »
We are very pleased to announce that at long last our Kraken is in production.

The Kraken is 135mm tall to the tip of the tallest tentacle and the base is 115mm wide and 200mm long. Supplied as a multipart kit, the 8 tentacles are seperate to the body. The whole model is resin. As an introductory offer the first 20 Kraken sold from the website will receive a free sea witch to summon the Kraken into battle. It can be found here: http://www.blackcatbases.com/product.asp?strPageHistory=category&numSearchStartRecord=0&strParents=117&CAT_ID=117&P_ID=572&btnProduct=Products...
The figure in the picture is for scale reference only and is one of our pirates (31mm to eye).
The Kraken will be available at Magister Militum's open day on the 21st October and also on the same weekend at Essen in Germany from our German distributor Nimmy's Horrorladen.

This will be an excellent addition to the exciting exploits of Otto Prohaska of the Austro-Hungarian Navy and captain of U13. 8)

Now to think of a theme for this fabulous sea creature from the depths of the ocean. :)
Best wishes,
Helen

It's one to save up for!

I assume Black Cat's pirates are more compatible with, say, Redoubt than with Foundry etc? Having far too many Foundry & OG Pirates to start afresh with a range of larger figures, I'm hoping that I will be at least be able to buy a few to mix in & use as tall people. The Marines may be another matter, though, unless I'm going to assume they are all of Potsdam Guard proportions  :)

They look like very nice figures, though, especially the painted pics.

Cheers,
Ian

Black Cat's pirates are biggish, but I've long since stopped worrying about these sorts of things.

Nice Kraken, Jo! Very nice!  :)

And for Calypso's sake, don't pronounce it "CRAY-ken", or "CRACK-en" like those sorry fools in the PotC movies. "CRAW-ken" is much closer to a correct pronunciation :P

I thought it was pronounced Great Old One, or Master for short.
