15mm Old Glory Samurai, your opinions please
« on: March 20, 2011, 03:59:42 AM »
Has anyone bought/painted any Old Glory Samurai? Thinking of getting some but not sure how good they are.

I am also debating on size, should I buy 6mm, 10mm or 15mm? Which look cooler and are the most fun to paint. Not planning to play with them, just want to paint an army.

Thanks in advance
Damien

Personally, I’ll go with Peter Pig figures if you choose 15mm…

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Second the Peter Pig figures for 15's.

I haven't seen the OG 15's but if the 28's are anything to go by then it'll be a mixed bag (literally  ::) )

I would vote for Peter Pig too, but also suggest Museum Miniatures, they have a new Samurai range. MM have a palanquin too.

Thank you all for your advice, the problem with the companies you have suggested is that they are all in the UK and I am in Canada. P&P should be pretty high, I found a site in North America where they sell Old Glory at a resonable rate; all I want to do is paint an army and possibly sell it. I have always painted 28mm, this would be the firlst time I touched 15mm. I guess all I am asking is if anyone has seen the range or better yet any painted pics of some of their minis so I could make an educated decision.

Keep the responses coming  and thanks again

actually, i have many OG range, and most of them sucks!

BUT THE SAMURAIS ARE GREAT!

they have many really cool poses, and the sculpts are preatty neat, really different from the other ranges!
here there are some painted ones from a great one!

My collection is 90% Two Dragon.  I think they have a great 15mm line of Samurai.  I was almost done painting my Samurai when Peter Pig came out with their Samurai range of figures, but I did add of few to my collection.  I also included a few select pieces from Old Glory and Minifig.  You can see my Samurai (mainly Two Dragon) at www.warin15mm.com./page04.html

Thanks for the input War In 15mm, I have gone to your site many times and find it very inspirational, I especially like the 'mooning' miniature  :)

Thanks again
