Great stuff Ugsome, if a little macabre. I like the yellow. :)

Poor choice of background for me, I think, should've just gone with the one brown building. My camera hates white.
I'm not entirely convinced I got the uniforms right, either. Anyone have any idea?
I told you so. You damned fools.

Answer - have to agree with you mate.

Your background does you no favours. All we see is the photo before us, and if it paints a picture, tells a story etc it gets more attention. You can squeeze a few more votes just by placing the figures in the right setting. Worth a few minutes getting it right.

(Advice from someone lacking the guts to enter)

Yes indeed! I only had one day in which to take all my photos for the entries thus far, and so it was a bit of a race against the light. Didn't really have enough time to fully consider the setup. Not that it would have made much difference if I had...

This doesn't mean you shouldn't all vote for me, by the way.  :D

Edit: I think the real reason for it all being a bit blurry etc is that I was hell-bent on getting the chap in front's moustache in focus. It's obviously the thing that'll win or lose it for me.

Phew, looks like we're going to have another close one (which is more than I can say for any of my entries :P)

Like others have said, like the yellow and the scene from Downsizing - but I'm still going for the police (totally not because the painter happens to be my friend, that's not it at all - no siree) - maybe it's time period prejudice ;)
\\\"Oh dear,\\\" said God, \\\"I hadn\\\'t thought of that,\\\" and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.

I am satisfied with the photography this time.
It maybe show a little too much.;)

It will be a nice fight between the nice boys in red against the guys in yellow.

I haven't seen any colour pics of them, but the one I have seen appears to show them in navy blue uniforms. This could easily be a trick of the light or due to the photo's age, of course. Blue might be the most likely colour though, given so many of the other corps wore it rather than red.

Very original idea though and you've done a great job with them! The background, composition etc shouldn't matter that much, but it tends to be very important in close matches. Still, like I said very good indeed and a unit that might be worth using in my own games!

Pete, there is an Osprey on Redcaps, I'll take a look.

Yes, I assumed blue, but there's a sketch in Osprey's Sudan war book which suggests red tunics, when on campaign in Egypt anyway.
Thanks for the comment. As you can probably tell, they're simply Empress figures with an armband added.

@joroas: That would be rather useful, thanks.

Uniforms in the Sudan varied greatly, it was over a period of 15 years, and troops came from posts across the globe.

Ah, yes, but these chaps are intended to show the MMP in Cairo, during the Egypt campaign of 1882.

Ah, fair enough! That sounds like it might be enough justification for red, then. Either way, until someone comes up with solid evidence, you can't be proven right or wrong  :)

The osprey shows them in a dark blue, or black uniform for full dress but isn't really specific wether they wore this on campaign or not, probably says but can't be bothered looking  ;D

though the armbands should have MMP on them rather than just MP
