Hi everybody,

I checked the different polls in the threads and they got all a different amount of total votes  :? For example, this thread (393 total votes) has almost 50 votes more than that: Click me.  What do you think about that?

I would like to know,
Stephan

Perhaps people just vote to match-ups in which period and/or the miniatures atractive to them. Speaking for myself I'm looking at every match-up and vote for the entry I like most. Maybe people don't do that because it is very time consuming and you have to choose an entry out of two while both entries (maybe) don't appeal to you so you skip the voting on those two.

I don't vote in all threads, typically those which I think are a draw.

Perhaps the OP has a lot of free time and can think of no better way of spending it than counting votes?

Don't be mean!  ::)

I make a point of voting on all of the matches, and find it rather odd that people choose not to.

Pretty normal judging from the past.

For one reason or another, folks don't always vote on all the matches.

Yeah, sounds like it's just a case of people looking at more matches in round 2 than round 1.  I know I was a bit more methodical in the second round's voting than in the first.

I think some people just miss certain entries. New replies in a topic changes the order in which topics are listed, so when voting while running down the list of polls on sunday around noon it's very easy to miss a certain entry as they change places as soon as someone leaves a reply.

It's normal. And of course people should only vote where they want to vote, for whatever reason.

Indeed, it's quite normal, and I may add that looking through all topics and deciding on a vote for all of them is quite time consuming. In the LPL4 I was often unable to vote on every matchup in a round and that was a limiting factor for me.

Edit: popular topics with very good entries tend to attract more votes as well, Franks entry in your first example is rather stunning so I can imagine such an entry will encourage people to vote more 8)

I don't find all that time consuming to look through 35 odd posts plus you have a week to do it.

If its just a case missing voting because the listing changes fair enough, but all the people in the LPL have spent a lot of time, and possibly money, creating their entries. Surely voters, even if they don't particularly like the genre, could spend 10 seconds and place that vote?

Well, that's certainly not going to help the situation is it  ::)

That is why I vote in every match. No matter the painting skill of the participants they all took the time and made the effort on their level to "compete" here and give us something new to look at!

I know that I try to vote on each mathup. In past rounds I know I have missed a couple of match ups until it was too late to vote. I did choose not to vote on one once, I found both entries unappealing. No one should feel compelled to vote if they don't  want to though.

I vote on everything, but it is unfair to expect everyone too.

You have to vote if you are happy to vote, this is a fun competition and everybody gets something out of it. It could be inspiration for your next project, the motivation to paint or just some eye candy for your sunday!  :)

IMHO, The voting is almost irrelevant in this competition, it is in the truest sense about the taking part for me.
Saving the last bullet... just in case.
