Not on my watch...  lol

This is my painting brush. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My painting brush is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

Thanks guys. :) I tried using a different skin-tone here and there but that's not really visible. Only the bugler looks a bit different. The last 2 Schutztruppe fellas will have a darker skin-tone hopefully.

Sterling paint job, I'm a bit late chiming in  on this one, but noticed the African cattle and am  in the midst of painting some "stock" myself, great pattern paint job on the bovine!

Oh, they're loads of fun. :) And you can make up names for your leaders with loads of "von" and "Freiherr von und zu" :) And in this setting you don't have to be the baddy. :)

Real life has been getting in the way again! Pfff... :D

Here are the last two Askari Schutztruppe for now. Plus a boy that will be escorting cows or donkeys for my T&T Schutztruppe force. I've used a slightly different skin tone but I can't see the difference in the photos really. Should have gone that extra step further. The Askari's face on the left was influenced by a brilliant paint job by Plynkes. They were painted about 2-3 weeks ago, but only photographed now.

I will be continuing with my Africa minis after a short stop in the Dark Ages, but I'll be probably painting less uniformed Askari next. Anyway... here are the three guys for now.

All fantastic, but my favourite is the one on the left. The small detail of the slightly different colour used on his lips makes a big difference

Fantastic work! I love your painting style. Especially your paintjob on the faces of the miniatures is extraordinary! The Askaris are having a very scary facial expression and the boy is looking very anxious…brilliant. :-*

Thanks guys, for all your kind words.

I am glad I went for the Plynkes style lip... It really changes the face for the better. But this face was quite right for the colour change. It seems to be a bit influenced by the Corto Maltese comics. At least it reminds me of Pratt's African faces.

Remington,
Actually, I like your boy with a stick best of all of these fellows.  He looks like a guy whose favorite cow is not being cooperative and better just damn watch out  lol lol

I will have to adopt your painting style for my own Askaris...

Thank you guys! Where's the "blush" smiley?

Michi, what the skin is concerned these last ones are simply according to the Professor's recipe! :)

Marianas_gamer, he is my favourite as well. I am looking forward to placing him next to unruly cows or donkeys. Hopefully the stick will make his life easier! :)

Really nice painting, I bet they look great on the table as well as in hand.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
