The undead, the bad, and the ugly
« on: October 11, 2007, 01:42:56 PM »
Here are some photos of what the Special-ops team was up against. Actually it was 25 zombies, 4 ravager zombies, 2 lashers, The Flayed One and Nemesis Hunter.

I want to take some pictures of all the zeds and ravagers. Plus I like how the Nemesis Hunter turned out and want to get some all around shots of him.

Not everything came at the special-ops team all at once. The Flayed One and Nemesis Hunter were actually in a different game each.

The zombies pictured are from Cold War. The ravager zombies are from West Wind. The lasher is from 13th Realm (not yet released). The Flayed One is a slightly converted figure from Wizards of the Coast Dreamblade. The Nemesis Hunter is from Hasslefree.

Wow, :o Love the way you have done the gore, particularly effective on the Ravage Zed. Looks like a gruesome game :)

Very nice indeed!

I forgot about that last one from Hasslefree , he'd make an excellent Uber Zombie for my game!

Awesome stuff!!!

Definitely some of the best painting I've seen on the West Wind Rave Zombies!

Audrey, that's awesome, I like your choice of miniatures and your painting job is outstanding. You should join the League, we could need some zombies more there :)

Thanks everyone. Glad people like my paint jobs.

I was hesitant about adding the blood splatter/gore to the figures as there is a lot of uncertainty in how it would turn out. I added some areas by hand paiting, almost stippling with a brush. But a lot fo the spray was done by the old tooth brush flick method. I did try to control where the platter went to some degree with paper blocking areas of the figures. But in the end I liked how they turned out.

I will say I really love Vallejo Model Color - Smoke. That is what I used to rust/grim up the Nemesis Hunter and the pipe the Flayed One is holding.

I would except I paint very very slowly. Plus I have different things taking up my free time and do not have enough time to make the League deadlines.
