German Armoured trains
« on: May 05, 2011, 09:51:38 PM »
Hi,

I have seen the post about the 'Armoured German railcar Panzerzug 52 (Verlinden 1/48 resin kit)' and also the Br-52 train resin kit.

Both very nice looking kits and i'm looking at creating an armoured train for 28mm ww2 and sotr games.

My question is that the Panzerzug says its in 1/48 scale and the BR-52 is in 1/56 scale. How close are the actual models? Could you use the BR-52 pulling the Panzerzug and it look ok when next to each other, or would they they look to out of scale?

Also does anyone know of any 28mm scale rail guns, such as the anzio anne gun or similar?

Cheers for the help.

well, the BR-52 from JTFM is 1/56 but the running gear fits onto 1/60th track (S scale), the problem may not be the size difference of the two pieces but that the 1/48 running gear is in O scale. The BR-52 is one of the greatest kits for 28mm ever made, even if I do say so myself :D

As for railguns, well it's been discussed and may be a future project 1-2 years, but it's still only a possibility.

There are 1/48 railguns available from a French firm (but the name escapes me at the mo' , the sell Solido), and they are VERY expensive.
Commission Painting undertaken, PM or email me.
