London visit
« on: May 21, 2011, 06:03:35 PM »
So, my son talked me into going to Excel next Saturday, 28th, to the MCM Expo show at Excel.  It's a kind of anima/manga/sci-fi show.

I don't expect/want to be there all day, where else is there to go, that's nearby, for an aging wargamer to peruse?

No, I'm looking at going to the centre of london to see Orc's nest and Forbidden Planet and a stroll to Beatties in the afternoon.

Thanks  :D

EXcel is in the arse end of nowhere, so your only choice is central London and thats limited if you want wargames related shops. Apart from the two shops mentioned there aren't many more. :?

Unless you want to do the museums?

Thanks, Malamute.

I think that I will be short of time to do museums, but I agree Excel is a long way from anywhere...........

For some reason...

I always like to take a leisurely stroll through Hyde Park.  I think that started when I lived in the UK a couple years (long time ago) and used to stay at Lancaster Gate when I visited London.
