I thought, now that it is finished I would just share the reason why I do the LPL.

The Haul


47 fully painted 28 mm figures

8 20 mm figures plus one heavy weapon and one truck.

4 helicopters with 12 painted crew

6 Vietnam 20 mm houses

28 mm Guard house and check point (not in the photo)

A load of bits for my african village including the kings throne

The frontage of a large building.

And a spider tank

Not in the photo is my river boards and bridge for Vietnam.

Would never have painted most of this with out the LPL.

Cool! I've never seen it from this point of view but hey! that's pretty good! I have to admit that most of my entries were miniatures I painted a while ago (though never photographed them) so all in all my final score of newly painted miniatures is more around the number of 20 or so.

Most impressive accumulation....... it's the LPL accumulation, right?  Note the LPL collection? 

Your productivity is quite incredible.  I painted in the 10 weeks as well but my accumulation of finished miniatures isn't as vast as yours..... still, it seems to be how I get most of my stuff painted.

Great Haul! Truely inspirational.

When I first saw this, I thought that I had to respond with a pic of my own.  But then I realized LPL was over, the sun was shining, the garden was overgrowing and that I hadn't been outside for nearly 10 weeks.  Now that life is back to "normal", I found time to assemble the horde and snap a group shot of my own:



7 themed pieces of scenery including "mountains", a tar pit, a stage, an oil rig and the Death Star ( ).
9 vehicles including a plane, a truck, a car, 5 TIE fighters and a Lambda Shuttle.
83 fully painted 28mm miniatures


I'm looking forward to seeing what levels the LPL will be pushed to in Season 6.

I must thank gamer Mac for such an excellent idea.  An LPL "curtain call" with all the ensemble cast to show the volume of work over 10+ weeks just looks so good in a single photo.

Very good.

I agree for many us, some kind motivation is required to keep active with the paintbrush.
I generally keep plodding along with whatever is currently interesting me as I enjoy painting and modelling anyway, though several 'gamers' I have come across dont particularly like the painting aspect of the hobby and tend to find something like entering a tournament is the main motivation to getting models painted.

I guess a competition like this is another great motivator.
