Terrain: Small stone wharf or landing
« on: May 23, 2011, 06:08:10 PM »
Google-fu has failed me...

For some time, I've thought the 'castle' from Dark World would make a great river landing, but never found an image, photo or drawing, to match.

One I just bought off eBay:

(sorry, the forum is cutting off the end of the URL; you'd have to cut and paste to see the pic)

Assembled on the board:

Of course, I could use just the stairs from the sides/front butted up against a stone wall, but if I can find something for the whole thing, I think it could be a great place to fight one's way into or out of town.

Any help with something appropriately Victorian?

Slap on some paint and that would make a nice piece of gothic terrain.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

I'll admit, the thought of a gallows at the top crossed my mind.

However, back when I dabbled in Flintloque, I had Gregory Peck's 'escape from the French' scene from Captain Horatio Hornblower, R.N., and I've never lost my image of it as a stone quay.

Of course, now I'm seeing Professor Moriarty dashing down the steps to a steam launch, with Sherlock and Dr. John in hot pursuit.

Thanks for the suggestion; may still go that way. I've more than one...

Doug
