Thanks again, Phreedh. I ordered direct and got a princess, an elegant lady, a princess in a gown and two fair maidens. I gave the monk a miss as it was only a whim, anyway.

No problem, you gave me a reason to waffle on about an old miniature line. :D

I received all the minotaurs from the Grenadier line today. They're nicely 28mm man sized (like the old pre-slotta minotaurs from Citadel) and ought to form a nice SBH warband at some point. Also got a shitload of dungeon furniture for that 3d dungeon crawl we all have on a back burner.

After a bit of a pause when I've been concentrating on getting my rules for this project to work, I've got a couple of pics to show that progress is being made.

A necromancer to direct those skeletons:

A brief overview on the stuff that's made it out of packages and in various stages of painting. I was a little shocked by how much I'd already got, particularly considering the current bid list over on eBay...  ::)

And a couple of action shots using the marvellous (and cheap) printable dungeon sheets by Billiam Babble of Inked Adventures over on RPG drivethru which I printed onto A4 self-adhesive labels, stuck onto mounting board and then coloured the sides in black with a sharpie. I really like 'em:

Now be warned, I'll be looking for playtesters soon for my rules!

Hmm, photos of those dungeon tiles don't do them justice. The artwork really is fabulously retro - perfect for this sort of game, I reckon  :D

Thanks, Engel - it was your thread (along with Funghy-Fipps' )that prompted me to update this one!

Those tile are mega cool and almost make me wish I'd seen 'em before going down the Hirst route.

Thanks, Engel - it was your thread (along with Funghy-Fipps' )that prompted me to update this one!

You know the weird thing is that it was seeing your wonderful 'Large Red Dragon' and chivalrous opponent on this very thread that made me think 'I've got to do some fantasy stuff.  NOW.'  Still not entirely sure whether I should thank your for this 'inspirational moment', though...   Having said that, I would passionately urge - calm down: not that passionately! - you to keep it coming as it is all grist to the crazy mill that is my imagination.

The Necromancer is BEAUTIFULLY WELL DONE...the colors you chose fit The Man's calling perfectly.
All the In-The-Works Stuff give moi hope for future posts...there's some very cool thingies in the mix.

A quick painting update as I try and get a fully painted scenario sorted for Thursday when I hope to give this project the first playtest  :D

First up, some damsels that will almost certainly be in distress at some point (although I wouldn't trust the one in the red dress, she looks a little fey  ;))

And give us a twirl, ladies:

To rescue these visions of loveliness (or to be beguiled by them into unspeakable acts of treachery), knight number 3:

I've also shuffled priorities on the painting desk a little for Thursday:

After seeing Funghy's take on the Bob Olley trolls I just had to have some, and somehow a wolf pack and more giant rats fell into my shopping cart  :?  lol

There are also two Mordheimers and a Curtey's slinger to be brigands along with the pack of Foundry armed peasants that dropped through the letter box this morning.

It's going to be a busy four days trying to get at least some of these fellows sorted!  o_o

The new additions look TERRIFIC...you're absolutely right; you have to keep an eye on the Babes in Red.
