Hello from Highlander Studios
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:37:26 AM »
A reply to my Boba Fett post suggested that I introduce myself. So... Hi, I'm Rod and I'm addicted to gaming.

I own and operate Highlander Studios, Inc. which mainly takes commission work for sculpting and painting. But as I have the time I add to my own lines of figures. 15mm is my preferred scale for gaming, but I'm not a purist and have a few collections in sizes from 3mm to 40mm. I enjoy sculpting 10mm -40mm figures, but 15mm is my passion for the forseeable future.

I started out at 13 when I bought Dungeons and Dragons and Squad Leader in the same month. It was downhill ever since. I don't have a real preference for one type of game over another. RPGs, miniatures, board games, cards... I can enjoy them all.

I have done sculpting for several companies over the past 7 years. The bulk has been for Splintered Light Miniatures working on their historical Dark Age lines. I still take painting clients do some proofreading and editing from time to time to mix things up.

Some of my pet sculpting projects right now include: new space bugs, Star Wars miniatures, Gideon's Dust post apocalyptic minis, and the new 15mm Space: 1889 figures. if you'd like to see some of the other things I'm up to, you can check out my blog at: http://highlanderstudios.blogspot.com/

I welcome any questions or comments.

Have a great day.

Rod

Yeah, yeah, Grimm.

I have an investor that says I need to focus on the Space: 1889 launch in June and July, but I'll put the spacers on the short list for Fall In.

What's your priority list for character completion?

Damn those money investors. :-)

Mal, Jayne, Zoe, Summer. Hell a bad guy Operative would be a good addition as well.  :-)
