Plastic Perry OW/ACW building finished
« on: June 08, 2011, 12:38:34 AM »
Recently finished one of the Perry's plastic General store buildings:

Good, low risk piece on which to practice airbrushing.  I need to find a better solution than hand-lettering for future signage.

Wow very nice!!! Btw does it have a detailed interior/removable roof, so you can play inside?

Nope but easy enough to make the roof removable if you wish. But this one is better value for money than the farmhouse as you get a spare wall that allows you to build the farmhouse instead of the store if you choose and it's cheaper too.  If you are creative you can move the bits around and build a version without a verandah/porch. I swapped the shingled roof for a corrugated iron one.

Very nice job on the building...if you dont want to hand letter the signs, you can google old west advertising and probably find any sign you want , size it with photoshop  and theres your sign. most of the signs in my old west town were done that way.

Thanks all.  I went with a hybrid approach. First, I drybrushed sign ages area and/or facades.  Then I downloaded some OW stylee fonts and printed to adhesive transparency plastic which I then burnished onto the mdf and Dullcoated.  Used some photos of historical examples for inspiration.  Next step is to add some line art and then work on the other sides of the buildings, adding playbills, wanted posters, etc.

Here's what they looked like today at some games I demo'd at my local game store.

Those Sarissa buildings look good with minimal effort.........
