Thanks for the feedback guys.
The set-up is functional, hopefully practical stuff that is reasonably easy to store and modular enough to be used in various different ways. None of the techniques used in assembly or painting were peculiar or complicated or required specialist equipment (like an airbrush or similar).
Its a gamers table, rather than some of the beautiful works of art that can be seen around this board and elsewhere online.
I am quite happy with this level of quality for gaming. While gorgeous, landscaped and fully furnished set-ups are inspiring they can also be daunting. Therefore I like to see photos of gaming tables for the more "common or garden" gamer in addition to the amazing stuff from the likes of Salute. Hence the photos of my stuff.
Very nice! Any chance of a game report next week?
I hope to have batreps up next week, but they will be be pretty ork focused (just in case you have "a thing" about GW
)
Although I have plans to play a lot of games on this terrain (AE: Bounty, The Rules With No Name, Judge Dredd Cursed Earth scenarios, loads of other things) the plan that my group has for this weekend is Gorkamorka starting this evening, all day tomorrow and then on Sunday morning.
GoMo is silly fun but the rules system (essentially that of Necromunda) is very familiar to my group. As miniature games have fallen out of favour a little in my group we are hoping that familiar rules plus a brand new terrain set,
figures and
vehicles will invigorate our figure gaming a bit.
Where did the red castle pieces come from?
The admittedly pretty cheesy but functional castle parts are expanded polystyrene toys that I bought a long time ago. I bought four castles so I have sixteen towers, twelve wall sections and four gate wall sections.
WIP shot:
That means that I can have a simple fort for Road Warrior type sieges:
...or a fort with bastion (WIP shot)...
...or a portion of a larger wall for a zombie incursion...
..another WIP...
My epic quest to attempt to postapocalyptify what are obviously cheap fantasy castle parts is detailed with lots of photos on my blog
here.
