List of 28mm row boats and small craft
« on: June 11, 2011, 07:49:29 PM »
I need a few small boats for my pirates to row ashore with (and maybe some rowing figures). Any recommendations out there? Grateful for any help!

Miniature building Authority has two, both boats are not cheap but already complete:

Mega Miniatures has Two. Nice models, very inexpensive, nice guy. Also has native canoes:

Old glory 25 makes this:

It's nice because you get enough guys to put in other boats.
Eureka also makes these, easy to convert to pirates.:

Made this sticky.

As with the pirate ship thread, please add to this if you have other suggestions, so that it becomes a useful resource for other would-be buccaneers, har-harr!

I use the Ainsty rowboats myself. Very affordable, practical, and well made. I also have one of their rafts, although I never got round to building and painting it!

Thanks Captain,

I just found that Britannia had a longboat with a set of very useful crew figures:

Anyone know if that is still available ? (after the tragic passing of the owner)

Just bought one from Grubbys Tanks  ;D

Those MegaMinis boats are good looking indeed. Far better (and I'm sure cheaper) than the MBA stuff.

I also know of a craftsmen from the netherlands: http://www.shiftinglands.com/

He's got some great resin-boats for 28mm. A few row-boats and some smaller cutter ... more coastal ships, but very fitting for any pirate setting, anyway!

Got some rowers for myself and really like them! I met him and his stuff at the "tactica" in Hamburg, northern Germany.

best wishes

PS
just seen, that it is already listed in the other thread - but it's worth it anyway ;)
