Third campaign game of ADE
« on: July 28, 2014, 10:17:09 PM »
THE BATTLE FOR HARPUR SHOPPING CENTRE!!!

It’s been a while since last game, mostly due to work and holidays, but my mate Matt and I were fighting it out once more in Across a Dead Earth. A fast, furious, bloody and fun game this time in the claustrophobic corridors of a shopping centre.

Scenario: Objective (25 Points/ Objective held)

Mission: The two gangs will try to muscle in and gain control and leverage of the mercantile centre of Bedford, namely the Harpur Centre. There will be three high profile locations of interest to the gangs in there and the one bold enough to seize the opportunity before The State swoops in with a heavy hand have much to gain.

Specifics: The game will run over 12 Turns, but each turn that there is FULL lighting, deduct one Turn. There will be 3 Objectives spread out and the gang within 3 squares of it and no enemy members in the same range at the end of the last turn will claim 25 Points. A disputed Objective will give NO points.

Special Rules: Two Special Rules will be employed throughout. The first one is: Solar Panels. The centre is illuminated by solar power, but it’s fickle at best. At the start of each turn, roll 2D6 to determine the level.

2-5 Power Cut: All lighting is out for the turn. Only ½ Move, no Ranged Attacks.
6-10 Emergency Lighting: Flickering on and off, ½ Move and all Ranged Attacks as if Range is Distance in squares x2.
11-12 Power Surge: All lighting kicks in, normal Move and normal Range.

Second rule is: Debris Filled Battlefield. With all the rubble and nooks and crannies around, a target is ALWAYS considered to be in at least Light Cover (+1), regardless of position on the battlefield.

AFTERMATH: With three enemies Taken Out of Action and one Objective held, the Bunyan Road Skins got 55 Points. One Objective held, also three Taken Out of Action, but one by gunfire the Kimbolton Road Budgens Duffers got 50 Points, a very narrow win for the Skins.

The Skins suffered some injuries, one -1 Toughness and one other. The Duffers had to pay 20 Points to give Sven some much needed medical attention and Igor suffered -1 Speed.

BUT, they have come a long way from their motley Yob roots, now they have forged a proper leadership on both sides!!! Matty is stepping up as the Notorious Leader on the Skins side, the female is receiving Medic training.

The Duffers were aching all over and it seemed natural that Lorenzo took charge. Given that some members are having battle wounds, Sven will receive training as a Sharpshooter to give him the best advantage of the SA-80.

A thoroughly enjoyable report and great to see how the Gang members are developing. I can absolutely see the loos on players faces when that Sacrifice card was played too (where the charcter about to be finished off let's off a grenade taking their attacker out with them)   lol

Really enjoy seeing how you add house rules too.

Thanks for posting.

Thank you, although I think the highlight was Sven's "cunning plan". Played Taunt and it was full lighting, Sven on WAW, Johnny B having to move 10 Squares (both actions) and two squares away Sven opens up fire with +1, scores a hit by 1, -3 for Assault Rifle Save, Johnny B needed 4 or lower to survive and my mate pulls out the double two's from a previous Four Leaf Clover card.
