Just when you thought they'd left town as well, they do look nice.

Looks very interesting. Seems a fair price at £20. I can see me ordering a copy before the evenings out, and as a result adding yet another project to my ever growing list of periods I want to wargame!

Rules for the naumachiae - gladiatoral sea battles!

I'd like to see that in 28mm ... Now there's an idea  :D

Not my cup of tea by any means but WH do have nice publications (if the rules are sometimes a bit whack).

I'm curious if any retailers will stock it, or if GW will keep it to themselves on their web site?

My thoughts exactly - I'd prefer to deal with Maelstrom.

This looks to be some nice eye candy, but surely the LoTR or LoTOW standard rules wouldn't really suit gladiatorial combat.

Unfortunately I still want it.  :(

I'm a sucker for gladiatorial rules so I'll probably end up buying them.
Wonder if they are somewhat historically correct. The few illustrations I saw don't bode well though.

Well I've placed an order for a copy. Will it be a replacement for my current set of rules (Morituri Te Salutant)?....maybe not. It will be a nice bit of eye candy, and I should think an interesting read though.

They also seem to have brought out some Napoleonic rules.

I sold my Foundry Gladiators collection to a LAFer earlier this year. Seeing this thread and looking at the pictures on the Warhammer Historical website has fueled my enthusiasm to resurrect the project. ::)

I have a box somewhere of 40mm Gladiators that I purchased at Salute some years ago. I think they were sold by Battle Honours (?) I might have to dig them out of the lead mountain.... :)

Dealing in single models, I am thinking of using 54MM, a nice change from the norm I hope.

The Crusader figures are very nice and if I was further tempted I would buy these over the Foundry ones. :)
But before I invest further in more lead, I will dig out the 40mm ones and take another look at them.

The majority of the Crusader gladiators are also a lot more historically correct than the Foundry ones.
Some of the helmets are a bit over-sized, and if you really, REALLY want to get them correct, you can always graft some Foundry heads on Crusader minis. Bit expensive though, but you only need an handful.
Said by the sad git that has more than 100 gladiators :?
