pulp bi plane
« on: July 22, 2011, 03:41:34 PM »
i was in the local news agent and saw a free gift on ''Grandpa in My Pocket'' magazine. The gift was a red and white plastic bi plane which looked like it would be about right for 28mm figures. It's a bit basic but would be a good starting point.
this is what its based on
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_-VCvZFCV5hI/TUnAhgDX8lI/AAAAAAAAEOQ/3EdjK2rjalc/s320/Grandpa+in+my+Pocket+DVD.jpg

i hope someone finds it useful
cheers

Looks ok in the pic, what's the actual beast like?

What's the price?

Does it include the elderly pilot in a flat cap?

"Grandpa in My Pocket" magazine??? lol

What the hell is "Grandpa in My Pocket"?

(I spit some beer at my computer from laughing so hard, so I'm holding you responsible Dexter! BTW the plane looks okay as a basis for a conversion, but then again, I've just seen the picture on the cover of "Grandpa in My Pocket". Man, you Brits are weird sometimes ;).)

The title sounds indecent... I'll have a look for it, but I'll not be asking for it.  ;)

I was curious to just know who Grandpa was and why was he in my pocket?   :-)

hi
yup it comes with a little old man wearing a flat cap  who flies it. the figures a bit big probably 3inches . it also comes with something that looks like a toy magnifying glass
theres a fairly big hole in the body of the aircraft to fit your grandpa figure in .
might buy one this week so can tell you what the planes like
it's on sale until august 12th i think

price is £3.50

Despite not being a "Grandpa In My Pocket" fan - James Bolam was better in "The Likely Lads", "When The Boat Comes In" and even "New Tricks"  :D - I'll have to look out for the magazine.

Bought it and here is the plane with miniatures for comparison.
Miniature I use for my Strange Aeon game are from left to right Heresy Otherworld Dixson Artizan Hasselfree it would do Ok as a back ground prop after a paint up and weathered.

Not just a paint up, I think, that cockpit needs some fill-in and re-sculpting, but does look great tho!
