You know, it's imagery like this that has led to the misunderstanding and oppresion of goats around the world.

Yeah, I find this offensive and fairly misogynist. I can't really see it any differently than if the goat was a white slave owner and the woman was a black slave... Or the goat was an Irish republican and the girl was an Irish freedom fighter...

Yeh, sorry mate.
I'm not super PC or a prude but that is pretty offensive.
I've got no problem with "naked" minis for historical reasons (pre-historic minis a good example) and art has loads of examples of the naked form but that's pretty exploitive.
So yes I would say it's rude.

ok..they're gone sorry!
So what makes the Pulp captives

more tasteful? Or do you think this is questionable as well?
I personally find there is a difference, because a beastman is clearly fantasy...

It's all a matter of taste and perspective really.
I've made horror minis which people have found offensive because of the  gore factor!

I think the main issue for me with the first mini was the gratuitous nudity.

The Pulp figures sort of fit in with the genre without being too explicit. One mini would obviously look good in a King Kong scenario.

That's just my opinion of course.

Yes, what PM said. There is a difference between the two. Whether you find one but not the other, both or none offensive is a matter of culture. Murch's miniatures are certainly exploitive to, but in a historical, kitch and very watered-down sort of way since it goes back to what was 'sexy' back in the 30' to 50'. That's my opinion, but I am aware the ladies, or men for that matter, of this forum might not agree with that either.

Didn't bother me. I don't see what is so offensive about it, to be honest. But of course other folks are entitled to their opinions.

I suppose I'd better give a warning next time I post any of my Darkest Africa pics, then. I don't want anyone swooning at the sight of a tribesman's winkie!  :)

Well, I may choke on my own words as I post my Chtulu cultists for the final round of LPL. :-) I may now lure your with promises of gory violence and nekkid knockers, bums and willies. And pan-dimensional demi-gods from the monstrous nuclear chaos beyond angled space in their full naked glory with everything hanging out. And when I say 'say everything hanging out', I mean it!

I don't like the sound of gory winkies. Reminds me too much of my circumcision. Not the most pleasant experience, as you may be able to imagine.

Gory winkies won't get my vote, however nicely painted they are.

For me I would say the difference between the beastmen and the pulp figures is that the pulp figures are out of context. That is just a woman sitting there, or being tied there, and you can't see the abuse and degradation and subordination directly. Whereas it is quite overt with the beastmen.

That being said, those pulp figs are no different in my books to the beastmen figures. Portraying abused woman as sexually attractive in that way is to dehumanize them. And yes, I did find offense at King Kong for that, both the original and the remake. The only way I would find such imagery acceptable is if it were clear that it was depicting a horrendous event. As in, it would have to acknowledge that the abuse and dehumanization of women was utterly wrong, even in the historical context.

You won't find any such figs in my collection. But I appreciate that you took those pictures down, thanks.
