Well, I got the rules & have decided to buy some Perry Samurai.

Now all I ned to do is learn how to paint them & make buildings  :(

Does anyone have any tutorials on quick but effective painting of 28s and any links to cardstock Japanese buildings?

I've tried Google, but my head is about to explode with trying to navigate all the Japanese-language websites

Thanks in advance,
Ian

Paper Buildings, i've seen many companies that do fantasy one's but as yet not seen anyone who does oriental theme'd one's..Would love to find some myself..

I'm going to make some buildings myself using bit from a tutorial i found here;

http://www.matakishi.com/vietnam19651973.htm

Thought there are a few companies out there that make some real nice resin building's...

As for painting, i just do what i can...You can see some of my stuff in the rules...
Become who you really are... [/i]

If you do not want to invest a lot of money - this might be an option:

and there are three Samurai sets from Zvezda including a castle.

Jez, that Ukranian line of miniatures seems to be a very good starting point to have two bands with only a couple of boxes... How well would kashindan go with 1:72 miniatures?

Yeah they look nice mini's..

Do be honest i think all you would need to do is maybe up the Ranges on things to compensate..

I'm already been asked a reverse question for like 20mm and 15mm armies..I think if you change the ranges by the percentage difference between 28mm and the appropriate figure Range you'd be fine..

got the rules, and the free sheets.

Played it 5 or 6 times, with a different army list each time and I have to say it was a lot of fun. to see your enemy hero stuck in the open because its the end of the turn, only to find your hero in the same boat the next turn, eith an arm full of Yumi's bearing down on hm is a lot of fun.

Cant wait to get some mini's now (We have been using Confrontaion proxies)

go on folks, dip your toe in, get the rules and have a go. you wont be disapointed

For anyone not too keen on investing a large amount of time & money on a new project, here are some Samurai paper minis:

http://www.juniorgeneral.org/renaissance.htm#samurai

and an example of them:

Pretty basic, but will do to give the rules a good run-through before deciding to dive in head-first.

Sadly, not

They do a great range of periods, but just figures. I'd really love to have a village & do a "7 Samurai" style scenario, but scratchbuilding isn't feasible at present.

If I had the artistic & design skills, I'd have a go at making my own paper models. Never mind.

I know what your saying some Great Samurai Resin out there though a little pricey for my liking...I'm currently trying something at the mo to see what it looks like...(Will be putting it on the Kashindan Forum)

As for 7 Samurai, already though about creating a scenario and have them moving through a village with nothing but Peasants attacking them...Would be good for a show game or just for fun..

I am starting to get excited about this, I will read the battle report in Harbinger and perhaps I download it after that.
When my site is ready I post pictures of my terrain and my table which is still in development ( but waiting my other project to finish first).

I'm told the next issue should be out in a few days.

I'd like to see that i've done a building to date (Pictures in the workshop area), also have some hills that i recovered to fit in with the Scenary boards i want to build.

Plan is to have more buildings i'm looking at stuff to do a forge/smithy at the moment..
