Werewolves -a query
« on: August 25, 2011, 09:21:46 AM »
Hello,

how do werewolves normally operate on the gaming table?  on their own , pairs, smallgroups or warbands?

Pat.

i think in TT-Systems all apply, according to the system

E.g. in Confrontation/Rackham they are more or less a unique tribe (bad and good wolves, both), in Hordes/PrivateerPress, they are more single units (though controlled by wizards of some sort).

So, it would be a question what and where You're aiming at, I guess.

In Strange Aeons, they can be used singlely - in Chaos in Carpathia they are a faction (i.e. a group) with normal wolves as 'common troops'.

No set rules for that - all depends on the game, scenario, and style of play.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Yeah it would very much depend on the gaming system, and indeed the background.

You can imagine that they could be all of them - from a single very powerful werewolf 'hero', to a powerful werewolf commanding less powerful werewolves and/or normal wolves, to a small group of mid-power werewolves, to a large group of low-power werewolves, with or without support from normal wolves they have summoned. They may be able to operate independently, or may need to be controlled by a wizard or more powerful werewolf (as Drachenklinge mentions), or they may do the controlling.

Do you have anything specific in mind, Alligator?

Ah, yes, probably - haven't delved into the Gothic lists, yet - use them for modern zombie games atm.

Anyone got any recommendations for werewolves models in 28mm scale and biped stance? I could use some for a werewolf pack for War of the Ring...

And I can't reccomend them enough.

They are just beautiful.

Lots of character, and apleasure to paint, plus a very good price tag.

Just bear in mind the 4 from the blister are 28mm, and for some companies new "scale creep" standards, they can be (a little) in the small side.

Black orc do have one compatible with WW:

This one sculpted by a very good friend of mine  ;) from Mexico.

Hope that helps.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!
