Here's my next unit: Le régiment perdu de Zouave (The Lost Zouave Regement).

These are a bit of an intrim unit made from Perry plastic ACW zouaves. Whilst they will do the job in the short run I'm not really thrilled by them. Good for a large army but not so good for a single small unit where I really want them to stand out as an elite unit.

Also my first try at dipping and I'm not happy with the results. I used a less expensive concotion (Spanish in origin - I think) and it is to thick and to dark. Not impressed!!!!!
But, as I said they are an intrim unit.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Once again I have to tell: Stunning

I am really impresed by the way the lovely Eureka figure is used.
I always wonder how I could make any use of her and here is the best answer!

It's been a while since I added to my little force of French VSF colonials. I wanted some Foreign Legion and it took me a while to find just what I was looking for but I finally found le Legion Extraterrestriale from Parroom Station Miniatures (through Brigade Games) and they are perfect. So, here are a few new pics.

First up is the army commander of my army: General de bragade, Henri D'leyzhee

Here is a shot for my first (colour test) Legion Extraterrestriale

With the Legion command pack comes a signaler with a strange device which I have decided will make a great control box.
So here he is as controller of le Bombe de porc (clockwork pig from Eureka).

Have not looked at this thread for awhile,
boy I have missed some cool stuff.
The plane, have to love that.
The General, he is great, and is funny, all at the same time.
Well done.

Now that I have a working drill I can get my 'Neff done to face down these dastardly French!

Fuzzy? I may need some reinforcements...

Great looking units with difference  :-*

If you end up fighting the British then you would have to get a clockwork cow for the 'roast beef' effect  :D

More lovliness, Melnibonean!
 :-* :-* :-*

A great-looking force is coming together here, with plenty of laughs thrown in for good measure.

Keep up the great work!

If it helps Hat Guy I have painted up some north african civilians you can use as human shields  ;)

Cheers

Fuzzy.

How about a Gaslight extravaganza to finish the year with a bang?
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

I do like your commander and Legionaires (i would have gone for these figures for my force if I hadn't found Warrior's Legionaires first).

Yes Dec 16 would be good. Since it is a summer theme night how about we return to north africa for a VSF version of the siege of Khartoum???

I can whip up some egyptian troops (with British support) to defend Khartoum against the French and Madhist (supported by El Laurence and his evil band).

No doubt the Prussians will cause some mischief too  ;)

Cheers

Fuzzy.

Yes you can. I have faith.
Or you can use the 40k painting method. Spray them black and voila! A fully painted army  lol
