The Wolfenstein 3 railway tunnel is a cool idea, and if you really want a realistic excuse, several of the Führerhauptquartiere (Führer Headquarters) complexes were built around railway tunnels or railway infrastructure in order to provide shelter for Hitler's train.

There needs to be lots of cool old elevators.

There's a German underground hospital on Jersey. If you could get the plans if might provide some info. There's diffinately plenty of pictures to reference.....

Ah, railway, good idea.

The german bunker complex inside a hill in St-Malo, Brittany (Fort de la Cité) has narrow gauge railway I think it was to carry the ammunition to the big guns.

The figures with it were crap, but the bunker itself was rather good.

I've often thought about remaking it, or something like it, in 28mm scale, so i shall follow this thread with interest

That would be a good game for BLAM 2012! I had idea of building one on the side of a cliff. Using a 3x3 board you build a wee part of beach with the bunker hanging over the edge of the cliff like the one out of Saving Private Ryan, but instead of machine guns have some big naval busting artillery like The Guns of Naverone. The game could play out with the allies getting through the tunnels to blow up the guns.

You should contact Shaun at the Bunker - he used to have a layout for Navarone including a pair of rail guns in the bunker.
