For anyone interested in this period may I suggest to you the following book:

Japanese Military Uniforms 1841-1929 by Ritta Nakanishi.

Covers cavalry, equipment, rifles in use, machine guns and much more.

Covers all services and shows a medic with red cross arm band.

In addition, I've two soft cover books in Japanese that cover the Russo-Japanese War with both colour and B&W illustrations. These books between them cover artillery fortifications, artillery, machine guns, rifles, grenades and mortars from both sides.

The collection of Russo-Japanese War Weapon/all battles is one of the books that has an English sub title.

Once more I've a B&W illustration of a Japanese medic in winter garb wearing his red cross arm band.

All soft cover books can be found if you search hard enough.

Cheers,

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

Got 'em all and they are great  :)

The Japanese way of producing books like these is fantastic, even if you don't read Japanese there are plenty of pictures and diagrams that are very self explanatory.

The publisher for the Russo-Japanese war books is Gakken (I think those are the ones you are on about Helen).

Hi James, yes gakken, plus do you have the Seibdo Mook soft cover book too which compliments the former book?

Just looking through the Seibdo Mook book I came across another B&W photo of a  Japanese first aid station with a number of Japanese medics with their red cross arm bands and panniers also so marked.

Cheers,

Helen

Helen,

I've got the first three as the other two aren't in my interest zone yet but I might pick them up next time we go over there  :)

cheers

I have Redoubts Japanese and Russians will these fit in with them?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

These seem to be going down well with everyone. Maichus could be in for a good Christmas at this rate.

Nice castings and they certainly paint up well.

Recieved a box from Germany with these inside today and they do not disappoint in any way - superb figures that came well packed and quickly too - cheers Maichus

Got mine today! Wow!!!!! :-*

Regarding comparison with Redoubt, I would say that these are a tad smaller than the Redoubt Japanese but nothing that will prevent me from having them in the same unit

Dear Sir,

Has there been any further progress to the range, I am hoping to see Japanese troops in winter garb and also wonder if the Russians are further advanced..?

Kind regards,

Geoff
