ME 207 ~ Experimental German Saucer
« on: November 28, 2007, 10:47:23 PM »
I've added a picture to my Pulp Adventures Gallery ~ of a work in progress ~ ME 207, an experimental German Flying Saucer for our 1935 Pulp Middle Eastern game. {The legs are from Ground Zero Games, thanks for casting me four up Jon; the hull from two vacuum formed plastic 'features' I got at Warfare, no idea what they were meant to be. The door I made from milliput, while the transfers are fom Company B ~ the U Boat set. The ladder way is from an OO scale train kit.}

Any suggestions ~ helpful of course, welcome.

The only thing I see missing is some kind of armament, like a ray canon on the top or bottom.

Otherwise, VERY cool.

Not sure about the eyes.... it seems to have a hazy resemblance to the McDougall's flour-sifter (either it's too late at night for this type of thing or I need to get my glasses changed :~} )

Nice stuff as usual, although I agree about the eyes. Just for interest the real German Saucer project was the BMW Flugelrad:

http://www.fantastic-plastic.com/BMWFlugelradV2Page.htm
http://www.geocities.com/unicraftmodels/germ/frad3/frad3.htm

Sadly no kits in 1/56, 1/48 or 1/43
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Sadly, no, Grimm, it does n't mean you must win the war!

Just chose ME 207 as a type number for fun.

As to the eyes; well, its for a Pulp game and I like them, and, they go with the eyes on my U Boat to keep the pulp theme going.

Hello Yankeepedlar01

I get a PM from Alex and he says me that the ``Must Win...`` could be misunderstanding .
So I want to say sorry for that .
What I want to say ist that if the germans have a armada of Ufo´s ,in ww2 ,than they would have win .

My english is not the best and so I am sorry about that .
I am not a Nazi or such stuff and I am happy Germany diden´t ``win`` in WW2 .

So I am happy when you send some Pulpy Comandos to destroy that Ufo and save the world . 8)

Sorry Grimm

No need to apologise.  In wargames we all like the side we are playing to win...the point being its a game not reality...

Grimm, it never entered my head that you meant anything other than a joke! No need to apologise. Your English is much better than my German, so no need to apologise for that either!

For our generation the war is history to be played out on the table top, so, sure, the results can be unhistorical without doing anyone any harm. We have all moved on I would hope, at least we Lead Adventurers have, and can be grown up about Pulp Nazis, flying saucers, construct troops and death rays!

By the way, in our ongoing games, Phil ~ the evil Nazi ~ is 2 - 0 up in wins! But, ever the game Brit who does n't know when he is beaten, I am looking to win the next game on Wednesday!

I like it - it has that certain Vril flair. Those eyes, though, I think it was mainly an Anglo-Saxon thing (for their tanks, having borrowed the idea from Chinese Workers in ww1 who asked "how does the tank know where it is going if it has no eyes?")...
