Yet another fantasy project, yet more goblins...
« on: November 06, 2011, 06:42:55 PM »
OK, so i'm finally sorted with a 'direction' for my fantasy project. The idea will be to model a few different encounters which will all link together to form a modest storyline for an rpg/skirmish campaign, when/if I find some other gamers.

I've painted a few figs up and roughed out a first encounter which is up on my blog. Be kind, but don't let me rest!

I like the goblins (who doesn't have a soft spot for them?), and nice to see them with grey skin, it adds a different flavour Where are they from?

Awesome start, and like others I really fancy the grey-ish skin tone.

Thanks for all the kind comments, especially from 'Mr Goblin'...

The top gob on the first page is a Mega Miniatures, the one below is an old Citadel. The rest of the goblins below are all citadel of varying ages. The half-orc foundling is Denizen, the woodsman is Perry and the dog is Warlord. If anyone's interested the skin is painted Coat d'arms Faded Khaki. I'm going to be doing a mix of skin tones for the greenskins, not sure how to do the orcs but would like to make them subtly different to thier little cousins, perhaps mix white into the highlights instead of bleached bone.

More goblin goodness - can't get enough! I am certainly looking forward to how your planned scenarios/encounters are going to work out.

It's good to see your Goblin population growing...also nice to see someone who appreciates the finer things in mini life. The new Folks look TERRIFIC; I love the top Guy's pink nose...been hitting the mushroom brew a bit hard. Minis & bases all VERY WELL DONE!

Interesting mix of manufacturers there and nice paintwork. They have a cohesive look despite the differences in size/style. You really went to town with the bases too--pretty. Good luck with the blog! I'm about three months into a blog myself and am overcoming some early blog-related challenges to find more lying beyond, but overall it's fun, rewarding, all that, etc.  :)

The big nosed goblin look can be made by gluing GW knobler heads on goblin bodies
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Thanks for more kind words! I think it is helping me keep productive although compared to some on this board i'm thoroughly ashamed.

Four more, my daylight bulb broke so these photos are even worse, I also noticed a few flaws which i'm going to try and ignore while i do the next lot. They are (top to bottom) Citadel, Rhoninstorm, Citadel, Denizen. Will have to update the blog later!

Nice work. I'd always rather ignored the Denizen gobbos, but you've done a bang up job on that little fella.

Very nice understated painting, a group shot is in order.
