Thanks Apeekaboo. Love your blog, lots of great ideas in there. I'm going to likely go with a slightly more suburban look for my 3x3' (divided into 18" squares). Are the little nick-nacks you use (hydrants, etc) from Armourcast?

All life is an experiment.
The more experiments you make, the better.

@Achilles

Thank you!

The fire hydrants, telephone poles, mail boxes, etc are from Mega Minis (eBay). I think they add a lot to the overall feeling of a building.
I really like some of the Armorcast stuff, but shipping and customs make it difficult to estimate the final price. This also make their stuff rather pricey for us europeans.  :'(

What kind of buildings are you planning on using? Scratch built or retail?

Those are great!

I really like 'Halvesie'.  Perfect execution of that one (literally and figuratively!!)

Would you mind sharing your skin technique and blood/gore on the zombies???  Its really well done.

Well my plan is for some single level sprawling American homes. The kind with big sloping A roofs and no second floor (in the south, a second floor would just heat up in the summer, so they stick to high ceilings and one level).

Most survivors would have to be out in the Suburban or Rural areas eventually, just to get away from the masses of Urban infected. I did a lot of work with Foamed PVC while building scenery for Infinity and I'm thinking that will be my main material for scratch building. I loved your use of Jewel cases for windows etc. I was going to ask, how did you get that 'dirty frosted' look for the windows? Is it Super-glue fumes? That was what I was going to try.

Skin is very simple. It's a basecoat of Citadel Dheneb Stone, washed with a 50/50 mix of Citadel Thraka Green and Leviathan Purple washes. I then highlight a gain with thinned Thraka green and add some extra bits of washes if I need to.

Gore is basecoated 50/50 Citadel Black and Red Gore... then worked up with stippling to Red Gore. Any intestines are worked up to a 50/50 mix of Red Gore and Green to give that bloated look. All the gory areas are then gloss varnished after the model is spray varnished to give them that wet look.

Pretty stoked to paint some more Z's when I'm home!

I may eventually mix it up a bit, but I really like the pale lifeless look. When I start doing 'theme' zombies I'll likely change it around. :)

In the case of the Apartment buildings, it's watered down white glue and sand dust. It's possible to rub this off, but I kind of liked the look of it.
In the case of the Warehouse buildings, it is actually super glue fumes combined with my finger prints... Just like in CSI.  lol

For UK and European zedders I suggest you go with Ainsty casting and Fenris Games for all your urban scenic post apoc resin needs to be honest.

Agreed! I have ordered stuff from both of them before and pricing is reasonable.
