I just received my Buccaneer Ladies and open-handed pirates the other day.

The ladies are worthy successors to their Swashbuckling sisters. Paul shared the greens pictures with us, and the castings are fine and the detail is good. These are going to be broadly applicable as working-class lasses in a variety of settings, and the poses are animated without being over the top. My favorite part about them is that they are dressed sensibly - not like lingerie models with pistols.

The open-handed pirates come with sprues of swords, pistols, and axes and clubs. The concept is similar to the open-handed Merchant Crew pack from their "Back of Beyond" range. The hand openings are broad enough that some gentle closing around the weapon will be required. Still, customized hand weapons is always a good idea in my book.

Size wise these all scale perfectly with Foundry, but are shorter than Black Cat and Black Scorpion.

I'm going to have to pick up the firing musketeers. All the musketeers up to this point have been fantastic models. The bandolier and appostle detail is magnificent.

Thanks Pete

I think that my best work is on the Pirate Cannon and I think that will be coming soon.

Can I ask what you like best about the cannon? For those of us who can't sculpt, it's always interesting to hear what sculptors like or dislike about their work - not so we can critique it, but because it's nice to hear the designer's take on things.

(I've seen pics of the cannon. It's very lovely.)

That's very good news, as the majority of my pirates are Foundry, so they should blend in well.

Another load of stuff to save up for in the New Year :D

Aren't these lingerie models from Bronze Age good enough for you?!?!

These must have been modeled after a Victoria's Secret pirate show...

Lingerie models are fine but can't designers put them in proper lingerie rather than modern duds ?
No self respecting 17th century woman would go about with scrawny unhealthy hips - give them decent bumrolls or French farthingales

I am an idiot - forgot to upload the picture for BPP008

I uploaded the large one so click on the item to bring up the larger photo. Will do the smaller one tomorrow as it is bed time for me now.
