Wonderful stuff, but all described on the website as 1:72, ie 20mm and not 25mm - will anything here go with other modern 25mm ranges like the Perry's?

Thanks,

Would love to mix models like these in with my Rohan force, but not if they're closer to 1/72. Also, need more variety in poses.  The spearman looks really good though.
This is my boomstick!

Modern 25mm ranges???
The trbuchet, which I havenīt built yet would possibly fit with perry figs..holding the side piece up against them it seems ok. The houses..not as with the figs.
There is a bit of a problem with the term 1/72nd..PSR review says on its header;
"1/72nd scale plastic figures on parade"..the reviews they make cover figs that range from 20mm to 26mm..as does my collection..in plastic / metal and resin.
They (PSR) explain it all here
http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/ShowFeature.aspx?id=28
Even the biggest..ie the 26mm figs donīt come even close to the perry figs..which I also collect.

Hi Paul,

'Modern 25mm' ranges being closer to 28mm - sorry I thought this was in common usage. I'm sorry if I ruffled a feather and, given the gentle phrasing of my post, I'm not sure how I did, but, like most people, I want to know, before ordering, whether I can use them with my other figures.  :)

As in most matters, perceptions are what count and I think that we all have to accept that certain scales carry baggage. For many people, 1/72nd (along with 1/32nd) means small plastic Airfix soldiers to my age group in UK (and probably elsewhere) - that Arfix also called them HO/OO doesn't help.  ;)

Thus 1/72nd (and to a certain extent 1/76th) models have become psynonomous with 20mm figures because that was how tall the Arfix soldiers were. Indeed manufacturers seem to have moved to describing their models in terms of actual height to avoid the muddle 1/72 or indeed HO/OO has caused in the past. This maybe a generational or locational thing - so sorry again if my own cultural baggage has caused any upset here.

As I posted, 'wonderful stuff' - but, after reading the article, I am even less sure of how tall they are now
 lol lol lol

No offence taken mate  :)
When I wrote "modern 28mm?" I was wondering wether you meant modern as in20th century  :)
Your post was phrased gently and I took it so.  ;)
The actual height of the valdemar figs is 25/26mm, they stand well alongside Zvezda figs.
The medieval army on the march are around 25mm..I havenīt got them yet but his oother selfmade figs are in that size range.

I used to collect the Airfix figs when I was a nipper and when the Atlantic range came out they looked like giant next to them..but still described as HO!!!!
To be honest I gave up trying to work it out years ago...if they look ok next to each other then fine by me. Mind you..an Airfix robinhood archer next to a zvezda medieval archer...one obviously got a lot better fed when he was a boy  lol lol

The same thing seems to be around with 28mm medievals..itīs put me off a bit with expanding my medieval perrys WotRīs with other makes.. :?

Thanks Paul,

Now you know that if you wait long enough Micheal may actually finish the WotR range  lol

Says he looking wishfully at his crusaders and wondering if that range will ever be finished off ...

Regards,
