How to paint a camel like Frank does it!
« on: December 18, 2011, 09:29:46 PM »
Snipped from another thread:

Finally...here is the short tutorial I promised to you. The first picture is showing a camel with an averge colouring. Usually they have a darker upper part and a lighter belly. In the next picture you can see how I have used the basic colours „dark sand“ and „green ochre“ with some „chocolade brown“ for the upper part and dark shadows. The next step is to lay a wash of "Devlan Mud“ over the whole miniature. Last step and the costliest part is now to paint several layers of highlights.

Thanks Peder for the tutorial from Frank. I'll give it ago on my "Frenchies go rough in the desert."

Cheers,

Helen
Best wishes,

Beautiful, however, that's a dromedar not a camel  lol.

Hmm, had to look that up.
It's more of a language thing really.
In dutch we just speak of camels and dromedars.

Lovely looks great I am now dissapointed with my own camels of which I had previously been proud. So in actuality I should not be thanking you lol.
